We rose early for 45min nip around Cascade Creek (walk immediately adjacent to campsite). Then drove up to Milford sound, which we decided we really shouldn’t miss and staying so close made is super easy. We didn’t bother with any of the cruises on the water as we loved our time in Doubtful Sound, so just had a tasty coffee and short but impressive stroll to the Chasm. A long but easy drive then ensued to Owaka, and another DOC campsite for night (in Catlins National Park). Though the van is very good on roads, there are some serious flaws to the living arrangement and dinner in the campsite was made more entertaining by having to reverse into the pine trees for cover as we made dinner.
