We grabbed a coffee, some fresh fruit and honey from Cromwell on route to Wanaka and arrived late morning. After sussing our what was available and doing some trip admin, we made our way our to Cadrona for some horse riding! Back Country Saddle Expeditions were a great laid-back set up, with trek horses that could not have been more loved. Joe managed to remember his horse riding training and got his feisty Jade under control, though I was less successful and remained unable to persuade The Ginger Princess to separate herself from the pack. We rewarded ourselves with a local ale from the famous Cadrona Hotel Pub and headed back to Wanaka for more town exploring.

We finished the day by feasting on fish and chips looking over our campsite in Albert Town (immediately north/ seemingly part of Wanaka), with Joe braving a last minute swim in the ice-cold water in the Clutha river while I read by book in the setting sun.
