Waking up this morning to sunshine and no bugs was AMAZING, so we had treated ourselves to a laid back morning complete with admin, bacon & egg rolls and some late new years resolution action (Joe only for this - I have now avoid the demoralising NY resolution fitness goals given past iterative failures).

All in order, we set off to the highly anticipated but poorly researched "Great Taste Trail Cycle Tour". Though it started well, with easy hiring of bikes and scenic route, we sadly found most of the wineries on our route were closed due to it being Sunday. In fact, as we cycled further we found that the distance between venues, the gradient of hill, and the degradation of the gravel tracks only increased resulting in the day being more physically challenging than expected with no wineries encountered but at least two pleasingly eccentric cafes. Rewarding beer, cheeky swim (Joe again), and dins at the camper site mean we should be fully ready for our canyonism adventure tomorrow :-)
