After an early start to escape the snores of fellow "Welcome Hut's-men", we stiffly headed down the trail only to realise we desperately needed to sooth our aching muscles. A couple of stops in the glacial waters to decompress did the trick, as the painful cold water numbed the soreness. Once back at the van we opted for the short journey up to Franz Joseph, where we could restock and laze about in the slightly soulless - yet but fully equipped - campsite. A bit of sunshine, a bit of cheese, laundry, Sav Blanc, chili-sin-carne and Kindle were just what the doctor ordered to recover :-)
